Wheeled shower chairs enable people with limited mobility to access a level floor shower safely, usually with the help from a carer to push them into the shower area. They are water resistant and can either be self propelling or attendant propelled. They have brakes on the wheels. They can have various shaped seats which can enable them to be pushed over the toilet and double up as a commode chair with a removal pan under the seat.

Consideration needs to be given as to how the person will transfer onto the shower chair. The shower area will need to be level to enable safe use. Wheeled commode chairs are not generally for use in the showers and will rust, so be sure that what you buy is intended for use in the shower. Weight limits will apply. Consider the seat width and depth to ensure that you can sit comfortably and safely on the chair.
