I want to be able to prepare a meal / drink independently
Perching stools are beneficial if you have a limited standing tolerance. They allow you to take some of the pressure off your legs and back whilst still remaining at a reasonable height for certain household tasks, including washing up, or preparing a drink / snack at a worksurface. They are usually height adjustable, meaning the height can be set to suit you. Depending on the bathroom layout, some people prefer to sit on the toilet to wash.
It is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure this equipment is secure. Weight restrictions apply.
You could find that perching stools pose a trip hazard, as the legs splay out, as opposed to being straight/vertical to the floor. If you fall or trip regularly, this equipment may not be suitable.
Perching stools can be cumbersome to move, so care needs to be taken on where they are placed, and whether you can move it yourself if needed, or someone is available to help you.
