People struggling with their mental health during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak will be offered additional online support and practical guidance to help them cope.
Public Health England have published new online guidance setting out principles to follow to help people to manage their mental health during this difficult time. This includes:
- maintaining contact with friends and family via telephone and video calls, or social media
- keeping a regular routine and sleeping pattern
- focusing on a hobby or learning something new
Parents and carers can also benefit from tailored advice on how to support children and young people with stress during the coronavirus outbreak, which includes providing clear information, being aware of their own reactions and creating a new routine.

During the Covid-19 lockdown, trained volunteers from the Night Light service are supporting those who are struggling with their mental health through providing virtual cafes and regular phone calls. Befriending, Online Chat Forums and Telephone Support for Older People
The below organisations have dedicated services for befriending, online chats or telephone support for many different topics including: if you are a victim of abuse or neglect; if you are feeling lonely and need support or just want a like minded person to have a chat with.

Lincolnshire libraries are offering free access to their new e-books service. You can browse via their Overdrive or via the Libby App. All you need is your library card number and pin.
A total of 14 Lincolnshire libraries have re-opened and will be using a take-away system in order for people to use them for the foreseeable future.
To ensure libraries are as safe as possible there will be a new phone and reserve book collection service at many sites, along with limited use of computers. Safety measures will include more frequent cleaning, stock quarantining and hand sanitising stations.
