Long term health & learning disabilities

 

Each Lincolnshire neighbourhood has set up groups of people who have come together to help those who are not able to leave their home. You are not alone. Let us know if you need help and we will link you up with them. Please see the page on the Lincolnshire County Council website.

The following are some App libraries available to help self-management of health and wellbeing:

Support for people with a learning disability

We know this is a difficult and unusual time and Learning Disability England has pulled together in one place some useful information and resources to help you. These include:

  • links to easy read guidance
  • information about how to keep safe and well during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak
  • guidance around social distancing, self-isolating and keeping well
  • information to help you should you need to go to hospital

Government guidance confirmed that if you or a person in your care have a learning disability and/or autism. You can travel beyond your local area and go out more than once a day.

The Challenging Behaviour Foundation has produced some information cards that people can print off and take out to explain this to people.

Beyond Words has free resources to support people who find pictures easier to understand than words.

Mencap have produced a hospital passport to support autistic people and people with learning disabilities during the current pandemic.
