Raised toilet seats are used to make transfers on and off the toilet easier and safer for the person. These are a plastic moulded insert used to raise the height of the toilet while securing fastening to the toilet bowl. Heights can include 2", 4" or 6".

• Consideration of the height; ensure that your feet can comfortably reach the floor.
• If you tend to sit heavily onto the seat, this can cause the fittings to come loose, so you may need to think about a grab rail or frame to be able to lower yourself in a controlled way onto the seat.
• Weight limits apply, and check the manufacturer's guidance for fitting.
• Think about other family members that will be using the toilet.
