Bedroom 2
Leg Lifter (Powered)
I want to...
- lower or lift my legs in or out of bed
Benefits
- Equipment which lifts a person's legs from floor to bed level (horizontal) and back down to the floor.
- Supports sitting balance as legs are lifted.
- Supports to slide legs onto bed from raiser.
- The person needs to be able to stand from sitting without the need to flex their knees beyond a 90-degree angle.
- Requires the ability to operate controls.
- Could be used to assist a carer with back problems.
Things to consider
- If a bedside commode or wheelchair is used, careful consideration should go into positioning to avoid blocking of transfers.
- Fitting/position of equipment to be checked regularly by carer or person.
- Consider weight limit of equipment. Wires/tubes should be hidden to avoid tripping.
- Need power outlet near bed.
- Compressor can be noisy - consider other house occupants.
- Consider position of carer if assistance is required for transfers.
