To enable carers, family, or other trusted people to access your home, or even to ensure you don’t get locked out of your home, a key safe can be a safe and secure way of making a key available. These can be readily bought online, or a healthcare profession may refer for one.
Things to consider
- Look for a ‘Secured by Design, Police Preferred’ model such as the Supra C500 Police Preferred KeySafe™.
- Only give your code to people you trust and change the code if you have concerns about security.
- Give consideration to where you position the keysafe, as it may be best placed on the side of the property for security, and also where there is sufficient lighting if visitors will be coming in the evening/at night.
