Stamford Community Transport

Stamford Community Transport Scheme (a project of Christ Church) provides a service for people who are unable to use, or have difficulty with access to, public transport. Their aim is to help people with journeys which they may otherwise be unable to make. Journeys can be for medical appointments, local trips for shopping, seeing a friend or attending community activities. They offer a personal, door to door service with a helpful team of volunteer drivers. The Scheme Manager and a small team of office co-coordinators run a telephone booking service 50 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday between 9am and 1pm on 01780 482380. The scheme is non-profit making and governed by Christ Church PCC. To use the scheme membership; individual membership is £15per year and £100 for group membership. Reasons for eligibility might include geographical remoteness; a lack of public transport; disability; ill health or for anyone who needs supported travel. Some vehicles can accommodate a wheelchair.
