Grantham Area Community Transport

A local car scheme provided by volunteers using their own cars. G-ACT is open to anyone who is unable to use public transport, or where no public transport is available. You must be able to get in and out of a car without being lifted or needing a lot of assistance as our volunteer drivers are not trained to lift people. It is usually possible to transport wheelchairs with the passenger, but extra notice is needed if this is required. All our drivers are DBS checked. Where can I go? The most frequently requested journeys include: medical/hospital appointments, shopping, visiting a friend. Priority will be given to medical and hospital appointments. There is a charge of 50p per mile, with a minimum charge of £3 for journeys of less than six miles. We charge for the full round trip, including the distance to and from the driver’s house. We will always do our best to find a driver who lives close to you.
