Louth and District Voluntary Car Scheme

Louth and District Voluntary Car Service takes clients to any medical appointment: doctors; hospitals; physio; opticians; chiropodists; visiting hospitals or care homes.

The drivers are all volunteers who give their time, but are reimbursed towards the cost of the journey at 50p per mile, from the driver’s home.

Drivers routinely wait up to two hours for clients and then return them home. Bookings are taken by telephone, and jobs offered to drivers near to the client.

Drivers need to go through the DBS process before receiving a badge, then it is the driver’s choice whether or not they are available when a job is offered.

The service covers a large area of Lincolnshire, and is always in need of volunteer drivers.
