The Brain Tumour Charity - Young Adults Service

The Brain Tumour Charity’s Young Adults Service provides dedicated support for people aged 16 to 30 who have been diagnosed with a brain tumour, or who are affected by a loved one’s diagnosis. This nationwide UK service aims to reduce isolation, offer tailored emotional and practical support, and create peer connections with others in a similar life stage. The service is suitable for young adults navigating the unique challenges of diagnosis, treatment, education, work, relationships, and everyday life after a brain tumour.

Young adults can join a safe and secure online support community, including a closed Facebook group where members share experiences and support one another. The service also hosts regular events and meet‑ups, both online and face‑to‑face, designed to help participants connect, learn, and build friendships with peers who understand their situation.

Support from the Young Adults team includes emotional and practical guidance, assistance accessing information on tumour types, treatment options and clinical trials, and signposting to other services such as counselling, welfare advice, and financial help. The service also offers resources and support tailored to education, employment, independent living, and mental wellbeing. In addition to peer support and events, the service includes opportunities for young adults to connect with Young Ambassadors, peers aged 18–25 who influence service development, help shape resources, and provide lived‑experience insight and encouragement.

Access to the Young Adults Service is free; young people can contact the Support and Information Line or join the online community to get started and find the support that best fits their needs.
