YMCA Lincolnshire (St Rumbold's Street)

Housing: The YMCA provides accommodation and support for 84 people aged 18+ at the St Rumbold Street site in Lincoln. YMCA also provides high quality general needs accommodation for 9 people within the local area. Night Shelter: The night shelter provides the only direct access shelter service for the homeless in Lincolnshire. They offer a bed in dormitory style accommodation and provide shelter, warmth, laundry and shower facilities, hot drinks and a hot home cooked meal, in a welcoming, safe and supportive environment.Outreach: Helping people to secure and sustain tenancies in the Lincoln city area. The department works with people of all ages who have complex issues which can include mental illness, substance misuse, long term street homelessness and abuse. The work is client-led encouraging clients to become independent and assertive. It is important that they feel in control and YMCA workers work alongside people in order to achieve this. YMC also run Day Care facilities and The Showroom which offers a conference centre, activity centre and café. They also offer workplace training and fitness training. The Exercise Referral Programme offers a free 12 week exercise referral programme to anyone wanting to improve their health and fitness. Working alongside the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, the YMCA gym team are available to offer tailored exercise plans to anyone with a referral form signed by their GP or accredited health professional. Referrals are for if you have a BMI above 30, asthma, COPD, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, a Mental Health condition such as Stress, Anxiety or Depression, Arthritis, Joint Problems, Diabetes or a Cancer Survivor.
