Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust
Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is a UK charity that supports young people aged 8–24 who have been treated for cancer by offering life‑changing sailing and outdoor adventure experiences that help rebuild confidence, independence, and wellbeing. The Trust runs free residential sailing trips and outdoor adventure weeks where young people meet peers with similar experiences, develop new skills, and rediscover a sense of purpose beyond cancer. These trips are delivered in safe, supportive environments and are structured to foster friendship, resilience, and optimism for the future.
In addition to sailing trips, the charity offers year‑round support opportunities, including a Youth Advisory Group to help young people shape services and community engagement. Young people and families can also access signposting to further support, inspirational stories, and wellbeing resources. The Trust emphasises psychological and social rehabilitation alongside physical recovery, promoting a sense of belonging and long‑term community connection after cancer treatment.
