There is a wealth of practical information on this website about staying independent, money matters, keeping active, healthy and well, and much more. There are also lots of links to other useful websites and organisations. Simply click on the coloured icons on each menu page to navigate to the subject you need, or use the search function at the top of the page.
You can also use the interactive 'Our Community' page to search for the right help and information.
We do our best to keep the information on this website up to date and welcome any comments from you about information which is out of date or which you think would be useful - just click on the 'Feedback' button at the bottom of the page to let us know your thoughts.
There are hundreds of free or low cost local groups and activities in our Activities and Events page that can help you - from lunch clubs, arts & crafts groups and exercise groups to voluntary organisations that will assist you with transport and housework. These types of groups could help you to remain independent and a part of the community.
To search for groups and activities, select the Activities and Events icon from the home page, you can then search using your post code or the filters provided.
There are hundreds of providers of services throughout Lincolnshire, many of which can be found in the Community Directory. These providers can provide everything from home care, gardening and personal care to exercise classes, transport and sensory support.
To search for providers, select the Community Directory icon from the home page, you can then search using your post code or the filters provided.
To make searching simple, the search facility will search for the section of the website you are in. This prevents the results from being a long confusing list of providers, information and activities. The most accurate way of searching is by category.
To find local groups and activities in your community, enter your postcode into the postcode box - this will narrow the search results down to the groups and activities closest to you. You can use the filters provided to further narrow down the search results to show the results most relevant to you.
You can also search by category. The directory can show results for more than one location at a time but only for one category at a time. So, you can search for ‘Lunch clubs’ in ‘Lincoln’ and ‘Gainsborough’. But you cannot search for ‘Lunch clubs’ and ‘Social groups’ in ‘Lincoln’ – you would need to select the Location and search for Lunch clubs and then for Social groups.
You can also search via the search bar. It is best to use just one or two key words as the search will try to find all the words in your search.
Some activities may come up in your search but the title of the result may be the name of the venue or group rather than the activity.
Some searches may result in a large number of results making it harder to find what you are looking for; try using one or two key words to narrow down your search.
If you know of a community group or activity in Lincolnshire that is not in our Community directory but you feel should be, please let us know using the 'Feedback' button at the bottom of the page.
If you run a community group or activity and would like to be featured on Connect to Support Lincolnshire, please let us know by completing the Activities and Events sign up form.
HELPFUL TIP: If you have used the search bar and then wish to do another search using the location and category filters, make sure you clear the search bar by using the green ‘Reset’ button.
Some national charities run groups and activities and provide services in Lincolnshire. Some are umbrella organisations for smaller groups and provide a website from which you can search for your local group; we link to these since these organisations keep their information up to date on their websites.
Our community directory aims to bring together in one place all relevant listings for local groups, activities and services within the community, as well as national charities and helplines, which can help and support your independence and well-being.
Of course, there are many retail businesses and organisations which may also be helpful but these can easily be found using existing and well established online business directories.
If you are looking for local businesses - from plumbers, electricians and gardeners to counselling, legal services and taxis - which have been vetted and approved by Trading Standards, you can search the Buy with Confidence Directory.
For other useful services, (e.g. mobile hairdressers), you can search Yell.com, the online version of Yellow Pages.
Yell.com can also be useful to find venues near to you. You may want to find one, for example, that serves or delivers food or that provides social activities or groups, such as nearby pubs. You can search by postcode and the results will show how far from your postcode each venue is, for example, pubs near LN1 1BA. Listings will often show what activities and facilities are available, for example, when there is a pub quiz night and if the venue is wheelchair accessible.
You can use the ‘My favourites’ button on search results pages, to gather pages together to print out as a booklet.
When you are on the page you wish to add, Click on the ‘My favourites’ button and then click ‘Add to favourites’
When you have added all the pages you want in the booklet, click on ‘Print booklet’. You will be taken to a new page where you can fill in details, if you want, for a cover page. Then press the grey ‘print’ button and wait a few seconds. Your booklet will appear as a pdf which you can then save to your computer or print off.
Your feedback is important to us and we value your comments. If you would like to provide feedback on this website, please do so by clicking the 'Feedback' button at the bottom of the page. You will then be taken to a short form where you can leave your comments.
If you provide a service and would like to be featured on Connect to Support Lincolnshire, please let us know by completing the online Provider sign up form. Please note we list charities, trusts, not for profit or voluntary organisations and community service providers and do not list private businesses.
