Patient-led support group for people with ME/CFS
We are a friendly and welcoming group; all of us either have had or have ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome).
Location
Most of our members are based in Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland; we also have people from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
What we do
We provide an informal helpline, social events (mostly online) and regular updates on medical research and other relavent news items. We also put local people with ME/CFS in touch with each other by phone or e-mail, with their consent. We are part of a national network of local support groups for people with ME/CFS; this helps keep us up to date on what is happening across the UK.
Phone support
Many of our members are housebound; we are available on the phone to offer friendship and support; however, we are all volunteers with limits on our energy, and do our best within these fluctuating limitations.

Social events
Pre-COVID 19, organised social events were a significant and enjoyable aspect of our group, providing the opportunity to make new friends and share experiences of dealing with this disabling condition; we currently meet either online most months (with the advantage of no travelling), and a couple of times in-person when the weather is warmer so we can sit outdoors, when COVID 19 rates are low.
