Daytime opportunities and day care
Daytime opportunities and day care are often invaluable in helping people maintain their independence for longer. They are a great way to meet others and get out of the house for a few hours. They can offer a range of activities, and the chance to socialise.
Daytime opportunities and day care services aim to help people improve wellbeing, live healthier lifestyles, and have a better quality of life. They can also help give carers, or family members a break from their caring role.
Day care is the term we use for services that are available in a resource centre, community building, or a residential home which may offer more support with personal care. Day care service providers have professional care staff who can support with things like going to the toilet and reminding people to take medication.
For providers of day care services, visit our community provider directory. Or search for your nearest day care centre via the Lincolnshire County Council's directory page.
Daytime opportunities are available to adults where groups are hosted in community spaces. They can offer support to people who attend regularly or prefer to drop in, to share their talents and learn new ones. Services across the county support a wide range of individuals including people with disabilities, learning disabilities, autism and other long term health conditions or differences.
Our buildings sit in the heart of many communities across the County. We extend a warm welcome to everyone to work together to provide spaces for community activities, places that offer the chance to try something new, meet new people, provide community café’s and much, much more.
There are drop in and join in session such as
• Knit and Natter – drop in, share your skills, meet new people and produce high quality items for homeless people and premature babies
• Warm Welcome – public living rooms, safe space and a cuppa or homemade food for free or a small donation
