Suicide and Self Harm

If you are feeling suicidal there may be people you can talk to who want to help:

  • if you need urgent help call 999
  • Urgent mental health support contact NHS 111 and select the mental health option, you can call on behalf of someone
  • speak to a friend, family member or someone you trust as they may be able to help you calm down and find some breathing space
  • call the Samaritans 24-hour support service on 116 123
  • go to your nearest accident and emergency (A&E) department and tell the staff how you are feeling
  • make an urgent appointment to see your GP
  • text SHOUT to 85258

Preventing Suicide in Lincolnshire

Suicide is not inevitable.  The Suicide Prevention Steering Group (SPSG)  have co-ordinated suicide prevention efforts in Lincolnshire into a central hub of information for anyone in Lincolnshire who is looking for support or information on suicide. For practical and emotional support, or to refer yourself or someone you know for counselling, call the service on 03300 889255 or visit the Amparo website to make a referral. One of the experienced Lincolnshire-based liaison workers will contact you within 24 hours to discuss support.
